
Ingredients (Serves 4)
1 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup orzo pasta
2 cups any broth
1 cup cream ( milk for less creamy)
ยฝ cup grated Parmesan cheese
ยฝ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
ยผ tsp black pepper
ยผ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. In a large skillet or saucepan, heat butter over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant (donโt let it brown).
2.Add the orzo to the skillet and stir for 1โ2 minutes until lightly golden.
3. Pour in the chicken broth. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium-low. Cook uncovered for 8โ10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid is absorbed and orzo is tender.
4. Stir in the cream and Parmesan cheese. Continue to cook on low, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens and coats the orzo (about 3โ5 minutes).
5. Add salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving. Protein boost โ Stir in cooked shredded chicken, shrimp, or crispy bacon at the end.
